2018 Kevin Hipple Memorial Tournament
Pinebrook hosts this annual tournament, named in honour of a junior member at Pinebrook who passed away far too early. “The Hipple” has been a mainstay on the Calgary junior golf scene for over 30 years, and is one of the major events on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour.
2018 Junior Development Levels Program
Levels is back at Pinebrook for 2018. This program will cover fundamentals and move into some specific technique as we go along. This year levels will be offered 3 times/week from May 9th to September 27th. Days and times will be the same every week, and we will rotate 4 consistent lesson subjects throughout the schedule. We will review what we’ve learned in each area of the game and add to it each week.
Wednesdays: 5-6pm until end of June (weekday might move during the summer)
Levels will start Wednesday, May 9th.
Participants are welcome to join at any time, and they can choose when they want to come based on their schedule or what they want to work on. For example, if the student can only come on Saturdays and they come every Saturday for 4 consecutive weeks, they will participate in each of the 4 subjects. They can also come to 4 consecutive lessons and they will cover all 4 subjects in approximately 10 days. They can also come to any single lesson they please; for example, maybe they are playing well and only want to attend a putting lesson.
The subjects are Full Swing, Sand Play, Chipping, and Putting.
Once fundamentals have been covered, we will get slightly more technical in some areas. Chipping can easily be expanded to pitching. Sand play can be taken to the grass and used for specialty shots. Full Swings can be shortened to control distance with wedges. And so on.
Groups will consist of no more than 5 students and each class is one hour. Each player will receive some 1-on-1 instruction. The group environment makes for fun, social lessons with a common theme, however each players’ needs will be attended to.
Sign up for a lesson by calling the Pro Shop (403-246-3315).
10 Classes - $375
5 Classes - $200
We encourage participants to use classes within the calendar year.
